Job Description

We’re looking for friendly and reliable Nursery Assistants to support nurseries across Somerset, particularly in Taunton and Frome. This is a great opportunity for people who genuinely enjoy working with young children and are happy to get involved wherever needed. Regular work is available, with the potential for longer‑term or permanent opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children during play, learning, and daily routines
• Helping to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming nursery environment
• Assisting with snack and mealtimes, as well as general tidying

Qualifications & Requirements

• Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship or Skilled Worker visa offering
• Able to provide two recent references (from the last two years)
• Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one* (if not, a new one will be processed at a cost of £62.70, refunded after 20 days of work)

• Enjoys spending time with young children and babies
• Is caring, patient, and proactive
• Is happy to help out across the setting as needed
• No formal qualifications are required – a positive attitude and genuine interest in early years care matter most
• Driving licence and access to a car is preferred but not essential
