Job summary

UF Health Jacksonville is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to support the Nurse Manager in supervising the nursing team, guiding clinical practice, and directing daily operations on the assigned unit. You will assist in hiring, evaluations, orientation, and performance improvement, and help manage budgets while promoting patient-centered care and exceptional service on the unit.

This leadership role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and adherence to Joint Commission standards,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with active Florida RN license.
• BSN within 3 years of hire or transfer; grandfathered policies apply to certain employees.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• ACLS certification required for specified departments (see job description).
• PALS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required within defined timeframes for relevant units.
• Experience: 3–5 years of practicing RN in acute care.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and clinical expertise to staff in assigned area.
• Assist Nurse Manager with hiring, firing, and evaluations of nursing personnel.
• Coordinate orientation of new staff and ongoing staff development.
• Assist in devising and managing departmental budgets.
• Promote positive customer service and patient-centered care on the unit.
