Job summary

Springside in Pittsfield, MA seeks a Nurse Unit Manager for our Long-Term Care Unit. The ideal candidate will hold an active MA RN or LPN license, CPR certification, and have strong supervisory and infection control experience. The role includes coordinating care, supervising nursing staff, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives in a supportive team setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in Massachusetts.
• Current CPR certification.
• Two years of clinical nursing experience with at least one year in long-term care.
• Experience in supervision, teaching, and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Ensure resources are used to deliver quality patient care.
• Coordinate with departments, patients, and families for interdisciplinary care.
• Oversee unit and nursing staff and assist as needed.
• Orient and educate staff; support competency and practice improvement.
• Monitor resident and staff infections and infection control practices.

Shift Schedule: Full-Time Monday-Friday, Weekend on-call rotation (every 6 weeks)

Requirements forNurse Unit Manager:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current, unencumbered licensure as an RN or LPN in Massachusetts
• Current CPR certification
• Two (2) years of clinical nursing experience within a hospital, nursing care center or other related healthcare setting. Must have minimum of one year experience in long term care.
• Must have experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, and infection control/prevention
• Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred

JobDuties of Nurse Unit Manager:

• Assure appropriate utilization of resources necessary for the delivery of quality patient care
• Communicate with other departments, patients, and families to ensure a coordinated interdisciplinary approach
• Oversee unit & nursing staff and assist as needed
• Assists with the orientation, education, competency, and practice improvement of other nursing personnel
• Surveillance of resident and staff infections monthly with attack rate and appropriateness of isolation quarterly
