Job summary

Springside in Pittsfield, MA is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager for the Long-Term Care Unit. You will lead nursing staff, ensure quality patient care, and collaborate with other departments to maintain a coordinated care plan.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program, licensed in Massachusetts (RN or LPN), CPR certified, with at least two years of clinical nursing experience and one year in long-term care, plus supervisory and teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Massachusetts RN or LPN license (unencumbered).
• CPR certification on current status.
• Two years of clinical nursing experience in hospital, nursing facility, or related setting; minimum one year in long-term care.
• Experience in supervision and teaching, with infection control experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure resources for delivery of quality patient care.
• Coordinate with departments, patients, and families for a coordinated care plan.
• Oversee unit and nursing staff; assist as needed.
• Support orientation, education, competency, and practice improvement of nursing staff.
• Monitor resident and staff infections with quarterly reporting.

Shift Schedule: Full-Time Monday-Friday, Weekend on-call rotation (every 6 weeks)

Requirements forNurse Unit Manager:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current, unencumbered licensure as an RN or LPN in Massachusetts
• Current CPR certification
• Two (2) years of clinical nursing experience within a hospital, nursing care center or other related healthcare setting. Must have minimum of one year experience in long term care.
• Must have experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, and infection control/prevention
• Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred

• Assure appropriate utilization of resources necessary for the delivery of quality patient care
• Communicate with other departments, patients, and families to ensure a coordinated interdisciplinary approach
• Oversee unit & nursing staff and assist as needed
• Assists with the orientation, education, competency, and practice improvement of other nursing personnel
• Surveillance of resident and staff infections monthly with attack rate and appropriateness of isolation quarterly
