Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines is seeking an experienced RN leader to oversee patient care at the unit level. You will coordinate nursing activities, mentor staff, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Under the Director's guidance, you may assist with budget planning and throughput improvements. The ideal candidate holds a BSN, a current Iowa RN license, and perioperative experience, with CNOR and ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Current or compact state RN license in Iowa.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Minimum of two years RN perioperative experience.
• Management experience preferred.
• CNOR or alternative certification preferred.
• BLS/BLS certification within 6 weeks.
• ACLS and PALS within 6 months where required.
• English language proficiency.
• Demonstrated leadership and team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and coordinate nursing activities at the unit level.
• Lead, mentor and supervise staff; conduct performance reviews.
• Develop staffing plans and contribute to budgets and throughput goals.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to meet care quality standards.
• Ensure safety and compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
