Job summary

University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Call Center Nurse Consultant to provide clinical telephone triage, care navigation, and patient education. You will assess symptoms, document details, and guide patients to appropriate care levels while coordinating follow-ups with providers.

Requirements include a BSN and active RN licensure; 3+ years of clinical nursing and 1+ year triage/health coaching preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN required; RN licensure in state of practice.
• Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience in Emergency, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Behavioral Health or Critical Care.
• 1+ year triage or health coaching experience preferred or able to substitute certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive phone triage to assess urgency and document data.
• Serve as liaison between patients and providers and refer to appropriate care.
• Elicit patient concerns to assess symptoms and develop treatment plans.
• Coordinate medical care and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Provide education and options based on guidelines and clinical judgement.
• Document all calls and maintain patient records per regulations.
• Follow up to evaluate care effectiveness and identify gaps.
