Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Northwest Arkansas is seeking a part-time Nurse Technician to support nursing staff with essential patient care. You will assist with daily living activities, hygiene, mobility, and basic nursing tasks in a busy rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with admissions and transfers, maintaining patient comfort and safety, and responding quickly to calls.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR/BCLS certification is required.
• Minimum six months of experience in acute care or long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential support to nursing staff with basic patient care duties and daily living activities.
• Assist with hygiene, grooming, and mobility.
• Provide general nursing care including patient positioning and use of assistive equipment.
• Assist with toileting using bedpans, urinals, or commodes.
• Take and document vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure) and intake/output.
• Assist in patient admission, transfer, and discharge including belongings.
• Maintain a clean and comfortable patient environment and respond to call lights promptly.

Education

How you'll contribute:

• The Nurse Technician provides essential support to nursing staff by performing basic patient care duties, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients.
• Perform basic patient care tasks including hygiene, grooming, and mobility support.
• Provide general nursing care such as patient positioning, lifting, turning, and use of assistive equipment.
• Assist with toileting using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation.
• Take and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, and blood pressure, as well as intake and output measurements.
• Assist in patient admission, transfer, and discharge, including handling personal belongings.
• Maintain a clean and comfortable patient environment.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights, telephone, and paging systems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
