Job summary

Mercy NW Arkansas is seeking compassionate Patient Care Technicians to assist with individualized patient care under the direction of RNs or LPNs. This role emphasizes teamwork and performing designated clinical procedures and supportive tasks to promote patient wellness.

Positions available in Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, Ortho/Surgical, Cardiac/Neuro, Med/Tele, Cardiac, and Float Pool. Requires high school diploma or equivalent; a CNA/CPTC or enrollment in a healthcare program is common; BLS within 30

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CNA/CPTC or enrollment in a healthcare career program preferred.
• Experience: None required.
• Mercy provides a 175-hour training program for PCT during new hire orientation, to be completed within 90 days.
• Preferred Experience: Healthcare, customer care, or hospitality.
• Certifications: BLS required within one month of hire; PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Preferred Certifications: CNA.
• Position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing and walking.

Position Details

Location: Mercy Hospital NW Arkansas

Shifts: Days (6:45a - 7:15p)/ Nights (6:45p - 7:15a)

• Preferred Scheduling (6-Week period), Rotating Weekends

Full-time: (3-12hr. shifts)/Weekly

Part-time: (2-12hr. shifts)/Weekly

PRN: (3-12hr. shifts)/Per 6-week period

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D, CNA/CPTC or enrollment in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum, and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.
• Experience: None required.
• For PCT: In the state of practice: If no previous experience, Mercy will provide a required 175-hour training program that meets the state of practice Department of Health and Senior Services requirements. The program will be completed as part of the new hire orientation process and must be completed within 90 days of hire to remain in the PCT position per state guidelines
• Preferred Experience: Healthcare, customer care, or hospitality.
• Certifications: BLS Required within one month of hire, completion of PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Preferred Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• Other: Minimum Physical Requirements
• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
