Job summary

MU Health Care in Columbia, MO is seeking a Nurse Tech for the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute. This on-site role supports patient care with a 3x12 day schedule, every other weekend and block holidays. Base pay ranges from $16.68 to $26.31 per hour with an additional $2.00/hour for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a nursing education program or completion of Fundamentals of Nursing within 90 days.
• CNA certification or CNA exam registration.
• Certification as a Patient Care Technician (PCT).
• Direct patient care experience in the last 3 years in medical settings.
• UAP training program with 100 hours of patient care demonstrated.
• Nursing licensure candidacy with prior licensure attempts.
• Nursing program completed outside the US awaiting US licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing/ancillary staff in transferring patients and handling meals.
• Organize workload, answer calls, and relay information clearly to patients and staff.
• Educate and train new Care Team Associates.
• Perform duties in routine and emergent situations as directed.
• Position patients, manage equipment, assist with hygiene and basic procedures.
• Maintain accurate data entry in the bed-management system.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and document vitals and intake/output.
