Job summary

Bedford Care Centers in Mississippi seeks an experienced Nursing Supervisor to lead Nurses and Nurse Aides in a long-term care facility, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and company policies. The role requires planning, organizing, and supervising one or more nursing units, and delivering compassionate care to residents.

Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to coordinate with physicians and staff are essential.

Qualifications

• RN license in Mississippi; TB Certification within first year
• Prefer experience in long-term care nursing supervision with knowledge of LTC nursing principles and practice
• Must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory background check
• Must communicate courteously and respectfully with employees, residents and others

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs the work of Nurses and Nurse Aides to coordinate and ensure quality Resident care
• Makes rounds with Physicians and conducts resident rounds daily
• Records and monitors Residents’ conditions and communicates with Physicians; assists with arranging transportation to outside appointments
• Communicates with Staff Development Nurse and assists with orientation when requested
• Monitors and ensures proper use of equipment and supplies
• Monitors daily staffing and assigns Nursing staff for proper coverage
• Assists with Employee Accidents/Injuries by providing assessment and treatment within Nursing scope
• Uses Documentation Guidelines to provide timely, informative charting
• Participates in Resident Assessment and Care Planning
• Conducts complete Resident Assessment and Nursing History/Physical for admits, transfers and discharges
• Monitors/initiates IV therapy and IV meds as ordered
• Conducts QA assessments and informs DON of issues
• Intervenes in tardiness/attendance issues and suggests actions to improve
• Monitors and evaluates quality of care provided by Agency Nurses and ensures compliance with Bedford policies
