Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day nursing activities during the tour of duty in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations.
• Assist in directing day-to-day nursing functions and ensure policies and procedures are current and followed.
• Maintain nursing service procedures and ensure staff compliance with the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
• Provide written and oral reports to the Director of Nursing Services and participate in reviews and revisions of policies and procedures.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and coordinate nursing services with other resident services.
• Plan and participate in the discharge planning process and in staff development.
• Attend committee meetings such as Infection Control, Policy Advisory, Pharmaceutical, and Quality Assessment as required.
