Job summary

West Boca Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN to provide high-quality, safe nursing care in the operating room. You will coordinate multidisciplinary care and act as the circulating nurse during general surgeries, assisting anesthesiologists and surgeons as needed.

Requirements include a current Florida RN license, BLS, and ideally ACLS/PALS. BSN preferred; CNOR recommended. Join a facility committed to excellent patient outcomes and professional growth.

Up to $20,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.

The RN provides high quality, safe, cost effective, total nursing care to all patients utilizing the nursing process. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on need of the patient and family members. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, Infection control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided. The RN utilizes evidence-based practice in accordance with professional standards and adheres to the Florida State Nurse Practice Act. The RN reviews orders/test results and documents care delivered accurately and timely in electronic health record. Responsible for coordinating & directing the multidisciplinary activities of technical staff during general surgeries in order to provide the highest standard of care for the patient undergoing surgery. Functions as circulating nurse. Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the patient. Utilizes the nursing process to formulate a plan of care and complies with the mission and policies of the hospital. Assist Anesthesiologists and surgeons as necessary. Collaborates with other disciplines to order to facilitate care. Responsible for the ordering and accountability for general surgeries. Considered as a resource for other OR nurses in the specific specialty.

Qualifications

Education

• Minimum: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Preferred: BSN

Experience

• Two (2) years OR experience working with general surgical procedures.

Required Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Current Florida RN License
• American Heart Association BLS Required
• ACLS/PALS recommended
• Demonstrates yearly competencies specific to unit
• Understanding of AORN standards of practice
• Ability to take call
• CNOR recommended

Organization Description

West Boca Medical Center (WBMC) is part of the Palm Beach Health Network and has been serving southern Palm Beach and northern Broward counties for over 37 years. WBMC offers general medical and surgical care, orthopedics, a robotic surgery program, a state-of-the-art breast imaging center, womens and childrens services and the only level III NICU in southern Palm Beach County. Its two emergency centers, one at the main hospital and the other in Coconut Creek, are open 24-hours a day.
