Job summary

Dignity Health's Mercy Hospital of Folsom seeks an experienced Medical Telemetry Nurse Shift Manager to lead a critical care nursing team. You will coordinate patient flow, allocate resources, and mentor staff while maintaining safety and high-quality care.

You will oversee staffing, ensure protocol adherence, and collaborate across departments to support urgent clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• ADN required and CA RN licensure in good standing.
• Minimum of two years of clinical RN experience in acute care.
• CPR and ACLS certifications per AHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing staff on a shift, assigning patients by condition and skill level.
• Monitor, educate, and update care plans; institute emergency procedures as needed.

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Medical Telemetry Nurse Shift Manager, you will help lead and coordinate our exceptional nursing team so they can deliver timely, compassionate, and life‑saving care to patients in critical situations.

Every day you will oversee patient flow, allocate resources efficiently, manage staffing assignments, and address any immediate clinical or operational challenges that arise. You will be expected to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, mentor and supervise nursing staff, ensure adherence to protocols and safety standards, and act as a crucial point of contact for interdepartmental communication.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical expertise in emergency nursing, demonstrated leadership and problem‑solving skills, exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to remain calm and decisive under pressure.

• Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level.
• Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
• Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.
• Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of California
• Basic Life Support - CPR from the American Heart Association
• ACLS from the American Heart Association
