Job summary

Dignity Health - Methodist Hospital in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a Nurse Shift Manager to lead a frontline nursing team in an acute care setting. You will advocate for nurses and support their growth to meet departmental goals and patient care standards.

You must be accountable, an excellent communicator, and comfortable handling difficult conversations, as you oversee patient care, staffing, and performance of your unit. A sign-on bonus is offered for eligible hires.

Qualifications

• Associates Of Science in Nursing
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification - American Heart Association
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Heart Association within 90 Days

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level.
• Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
• Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.
• Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

We are offering a $15,000 sign-on bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
