Job summary
Windham Hospital offers a Nurse Residency program to help newly licensed nurses transition into clinical practice with mentorship and resources. The program, in partnership with Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program, provides a structured 12-month curriculum with hands-on clinical experiences and classroom education across units such as Med/Surg, Telemetry, Emergency, and Operating Room.

Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of a school of nursing. Soon to be graduates are welcome to apply!
- Experience: New RN Graduate Nurses or newly licensed RNs.
- License and Certification: Active State of CT RN license. New graduates may start employment under Graduate Nurse license status with pending license and must complete NCLEX and obtain active license within 90 days.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a 12-month Nurse Residency program with hands-on training.
- Be hired directly into a specialty area (Med/Surg/Telemetry, Emergency, OR).
- Attend classroom sessions for additional education and training.
- Gain clinical autonomy and inter-professional teamwork skills.
