Job summary

Windham Hospital in Connecticut is offering a Nurse Residency program to help newly licensed nurses transition into clinical practice with support, resources and mentorship. We have partnered with the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ to provide resources to help new nurses gain confidence and increase competence during this 12-month program.

Your well-being as a new nurse is enhanced through hands-on training and processing clinical experiences.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing.
• New RN Graduate Nurses or newly licensed RNs.
• Active State of CT RN license. New graduates may start under Graduate Nurse license status with pending license and must successfully complete first NCLEX testing and obtain active license within 90 days from graduation date.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 12-month Nurse Residency program with clinical immersion and classroom education.
• Nurse Residents will be hired directly into a specialty area (e.g., Med/Surg, Telemetry, Emergency, OR) and receive focused education.
• Gain clinical autonomy and build inter-professional teamwork and leadership skills.
