Job summary

Wellpath is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide a comprehensive range of medical services to incarcerated patients under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and physicians. You will conduct exams, chronic care, and infirmary rounds while ensuring documentation in SOAP format.

This role requires adherence to formulary guidelines, timely emergencies response, coordination of admissions, transfers, and specialty referrals, plus participation in facility committees.

Qualifications

• Must hold NP license in the state of employment.
• CPR certification required.
• Corrections/medical-surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical care to inmates, including exams, chronic care, and infirmary rounds.
• Maintains accurate SOAP notes and adheres to formulary guidelines.
• Responds to emergencies and makes decisions regarding non-formulary drugs or referrals.
• Supports policies for admissions, transfers, and specialty referrals.
