UW Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner in Family Practice for a position in Monona, Wisconsin.

Job Description & Requirements

Work Schedule

90% FTE, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. No holidays or call. Hours may vary based on department needs.

Role Overview

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in inpatient and ambulatory care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing physical exams and managing health maintenance for family medicine patients.
• Caring for acute and chronic needs of patients from newborn to elderly.
• Performing telemedicine visits (video and telephone).
• Performing routine procedures independently, such as wart removal, Pap smears, IUD removal, IUD/Nexplanon placement, and skin lesion removals.

Education Requirements

For Nurse Practitioners: Master’s or Doctorate from an accredited Nursing Program.

For Physician Assistants: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited PA Program.

Licenses and Certifications

Minimum requirements include:

• State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure.
• Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, for Nurse Practitioners.
• Active board certification as a NP in clinical practice areas like Family.

For Physician Assistants:

• Active PA license with prescriptive authority.
• Active PA board certification.

All applicants must have or be able to obtain an active DEA license prior to or upon hire.
