UW Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology for a job in MADISON, Wisconsin.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with a schedule of 8-hour shifts from 3 PM to 11 PM, including 5 workdays with a variable weekly schedule (Monday through Sunday), a 1:4 weekend rotation, and holiday rotation. Future schedule may include rotating overnight coverage and holidays as service expands to 24/7. The position is based at University Hospital, 600 Highland Avenue, Madison, WI.

The Primary Cardiology Inpatient service is expanding, hiring multiple advanced practice providers, and is part of UW Health, Wisconsin's top hospital.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with residents, fellows, and physicians to care for cardiology patients.
• Managing acute and some chronic conditions, including non-cardiac issues like kidney disease, anemia, and sepsis.
• Participating in rounds, interpreting labs and imaging, monitoring, medication management, and patient communication.
• Handling admissions, transfers, discharges, and care coordination.

Qualifications:

Education: Master’s or Doctorate from an accredited Nursing Program for Nurse Practitioners; Bachelor’s or Master’s from an accredited PA Program for Physician Assistants.

Licenses and Certifications: Active Wisconsin NP or PA license, prescriptive authority, and certification (NP: board-certified in adult, gerontology, or primary care; PA: active license and certification). All applicants must have or be able to obtain a DEA license.
