Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Nurse Practitioner in Taylorsville, North Carolina. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week in a correctional healthcare setting, with competitive local pay and 1099 contract options.

• Current, valid, and unrestricted North Carolina license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 2 years +of recent experience as a Nurse Practitioner
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,...)

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and medical histories.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic health conditions.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
• Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans within scope of practice.
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment options, and health maintenance.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR.
• Promote preventive care and wellness through patient education and screenings.
• Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, facility policies, and regulatory standards.
