Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for Snow Hill, North Carolina. The role involves comprehensive patient assessments, treatment of acute and chronic conditions, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a correctional healthcare setting.

This full-time position offers local pay hourly, with contract option (1099). Applicants must hold an NC NP license, have at least 2 years of NP experience, and provide PSV and required certifications.

Qualifications

Current, valid, and unrestricted North Carolina NP license in good standing.
Minimum of 2 years+ of recent experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
Copy of PSV from licensing board or verification agency if required.
Copy of all current required certifications (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test).

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and medical histories.
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic health conditions.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans within scope of practice.
Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment options, and health maintenance.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR.
Promote preventive care and wellness through patient education and screenings.
Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, facility policies, and regulatory standards.
