Cynet HealthStaff seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner for Cardiothoracic Surgery to provide postoperative care for cardiothoracic and vascular patients in an inpatient hospital setting. The role includes taking consults from the emergency department, cath lab, and other providers, and may require vein harvesting and operative assistance.
Responsibilities also include prescribing, coordinating care, rounding, interpreting tests, and on-call coverage, with weekend and on-call expectations.

Description:This position involves providing post-operative care for all types of cardiothoracic and vascular patients.Emergency surgery on cardiothoracic and vascular patients will be part of the responsibilities.You will take consults and referrals from the emergency department, cath lab, and other healthcare providers.The role requires the ability to harvest veins during heart surgery.Assisting in surgery is necessary.You will write prescriptions and coordinate care for patients.Rounding and interpreting tests are essential tasks.Ordering tests and managing the retrieval of vascular tissues for use as a bypass conduit will be included.Experience with EMR documentation is needed.Availability for call coverage is required, including in-house and beeper/phone call.On weekends, expect approximately 10 hours of call back.The patient population consists of adults and geriatric individuals.The average number of patients handled daily is between 20 to 26 in a hospital setting.This role involves inpatient hospital-based practice.
