Job summary

Regional Medical Center in Springfield OH seeks a highly skilled Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner to support the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery department. Immediate start with blocks through year-end and into 2027.

The ideal candidate will provide inpatient post-operative care, assist in the operating room, and manage 20–26 patients daily, coordinating with ED, Cath Lab, and other providers while documenting in Epic EMR.

Qualifications

• Locum Tenens NP with cardiothoracic/vascular surgery exposure preferred.
• Inpatient post-operative care experience required.
• Ability to assist in the operating room and manage perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient post-operative care for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients.
• Assist in the operating room, including performing emergency surgery on cardiothoracic and vascular patients.
• Perform endoscopic vein harvesting and retrieval of vascular tissues for use as bypass conduits.
• Conduct inpatient rounding and manage daily caseloads of 20 to 26 hospital patients.
• Manage consultations and referrals from the Emergency Department, Cath Lab, and other hospital providers.
• Order, interpret diagnostic tests, coordinate care plans, and write prescriptions.
• Utilize the Epic EMR system for all clinical documentation.

Position Overview

Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner to support our growing Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery department. As the only full-service hospital in Clark County, our Level II Trauma Center provides comprehensive, high-quality care to adult and geriatric populations. This position offers an immediate start date with ongoing, predictable blocks of coverage through the end of the year and into 2027.
