Job summary

77 consultants is seeking a Board Certified PA in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery for locum coverage at an inpatient hospital setting. The role includes postoperative management, emergencies, consults, and collaborative care with the surgical team.

Coverage runs Sept 8–18, 2026, with ongoing needs of 1–2 weeks per month through 2027. In-house call by beeper, and weekend 24-hour on-site coverage are required.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Vascular Surgery.
• Active Ohio Medical License (NO new applications accepted).
• Current ACLS Certification.
• Current DEA Registration.
• Clean professional background with no malpractice or licensing issues.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Post-operative management for diverse cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients.
• Emergency surgical intervention for cardiothoracic and vascular cases.
• Consultation and referrals from Emergency Department, Cath Lab, and other hospital providers.
• Competency in vein harvesting during cardiac procedures.
• Participation in surgical assistance.
• Care coordination.
• Daily rounding.
• Interpretation and ordering of diagnostic tests.
• Retrieval of vascular tissues for bypass conduit use.
