Job summary

MEDIKO is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (FNP/APRN/CNP) for a permanent part‑time position at Bedford County Jail. The role supports onsite care with an 8‑hour shift and a 4‑hour shift weekly, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and/or Friday.

It requires license, DEA where applicable, and strong correctional healthcare experience. You will provide high‑quality medical care, manage chronic conditions, and collaborate with the medical team while maintaining records and following HIPAA and facility

Qualifications

• Active NP license in the state
• DEA registration if applicable
• Board certification preferred
• 3–5 years clinical practice, 1–2 years in correctional or underserved settings preferred
• Active CPR/BLS certificate

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality medical care to inmates, including assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans and patient education
• Prescribe medications and order appropriate tests
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care

This role will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care delivery and will prescribe medications, perform procedures, and manage chronic conditions.
