Job summary

MEDIKO INC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (FNP) for the York County Prison Medical Unit in York, PA. This full-time, day-shift position requires 3–5 years of clinical practice, a valid state license, and DEA registration to provide high-quality inmate care.

You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients, prescribe medications, order tests, and lead a healthcare team while upholding HIPAA and medical ethics. On-call duties and collaboration across disciplines are included.

Qualifications

• Current, valid state license.
• DEA registration, if applicable.
• Board certification in a relevant specialty preferred.
• 3–5 years clinical practice; correctional/underserved setting preferred.
• Active CPR/BLS per American Heart Association/Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based medical care to inmates per policies and guidelines.
• Assess, diagnose, treat, prescribe medications, and order tests.
• Demonstrate leadership to ensure excellence in patient care and satisfaction.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality of medical information.

Job Location: York County Prison - York, PA 17402. Position Type: MEDIKO Employee - Full Time. Job Shift: Day Shift. Nurse Practitioner (FNP) | York, PA. Minimum of one to three years practicing as a Nurse Practitioner. Salary Estimated: 156,000 (experience-based) | Full-Time | Days. York County Prison Medical Unit with MEDIKO. • Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to inmates in accordance with established policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
• Perform assessments, diagnose, and treat patients, including prescribing medication and ordering appropriate tests.

• Participate in medical activities that foster growth and development for both medical professionals and patient care.
• Maintain professional standards and accountability for own conduct and appearance at all times.
• Respect and adhere to the facility's safety, infection control, and operational policies, ensuring a safe and effective healthcare environment.
• Accept staffing assignments and perform additional duties as required, demonstrating flexibility in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborate with medical and correctional staff to ensure smooth operations, resolve issues, and enhance patient care delivery.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What we Ask of YOU

• A current, valid, and unrestricted state license
• For advanced clinical roles, completion of an accredited graduate or professional program (e.g., medical school, dental school, nurse practitioner program, etc.) is required.
• A current, valid DEA registration, if applicable.
• Board certification in a relevant specialty is preferred, if applicable.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical practice, with at least 1-2 years in a correctional healthcare or underserved population setting preferred.
• Experience in diagnosis, treatment planning, and providing healthcare services in a managed care or correctional facility setting is highly preferred.
• Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved).
