Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner for GoHealth Urgent Care in the South Region on a per diem basis. The role focuses on urgent care for adult and pediatric patients in Houston-area centers, with emphasis on autonomous practice and collaborative support.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in urgent care or emergency settings, strong assessment skills, and proficiency with EMR systems. Per diem flexibility is offered across the South Region centers.

Qualifications

• NP with urgent care or ER experience; adult and pediatric care.
• Master's degree in Nursing required.
• Active state NP license and national certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for acute episodic conditions in urgent care settings.
• Evaluate, diagnose and manage pediatric and adult patients.
• Perform procedures such as sutures, casting, and reading EKGs/X-rays when needed.

Our Advanced Practitioners (NP/PAs) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections.

It is essential to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary while going above and beyond to deliver an unparalleled patient experience.

Work Experience:

• NP: 2 or more years of Full-Time experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting required
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations.
• Comfortable with minor procedures (sutures, casts, splints, etc.), reading EKGs and X-rays.

Education:

Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners

Required Licenses/Certifications:

National Certifications

Active state medical licensure

Additional Knowledge Skills & Abilities Preferred:

• Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
• Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
