Job summary

St. Joseph Hospice is hiring an experienced PRN Nurse Practitioner to join our hospice care team serving the Houston, TX area. You’ll provide primary and palliative care to home-bound patients, perform exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, and manage medications.

This role offers an ESOP ownership benefit, mileage reimbursement, and competitive pay with potential for increased earning. Hospice experience preferred, EMR experience beneficial.

Qualifications

• Current TX license required.
• Two or more years as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Hospice or Palliative care experience preferred.
• Experience EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary medical care and palliative care for chronic and acute illnesses to home-bound patients.
• Provide physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases.
• Interpret laboratory and test results.
• Prescribe and manage medications and other therapies.

Essential daily duties include:

• Provide primary medical care and palliative care for chronic and acute illnesses to patients who are home-bound or have difficulty traveling to a physician’s office


• Provide physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases


• Interpret laboratory and test results


• Prescribe and manage medications and other therapies all with an emphasis on health maintenance and disease prevention

Qualifications:

• Current TX license required


• Two or more years as a Nurse Practitioner


• Problem-solving skills and ability to deal with a variety of situations


• Hospice or Palliative care experience preferred


• Experience EMR preferred
