Job summary

Genesis HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead education and staff development within our long-term care facilities in New Jersey. The role reports to the Director of Nursing and focuses on creating education programs, supervising onboarding, and evaluating staff competency to ensure high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license with 3+ years of clinical experience (2+ in long-term care) and experience as an educator or in adult learning.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Nursing.
• Develop education programs in response to staff needs and teach staff current patient care and nursing center practices.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees throughout orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluation and clinically appraise nursing staff performance.
• Provide oversight to Employee Health Program including TB and vaccines and tracking influenza immunizations.
