Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Nurse Manager of Operations for the Med/Surg unit (Evenings and Nights) to lead daily operations and optimize patient care. This role requires strong nursing leadership, staff supervision, and a focus on budget and quality metrics within a demanding schedule.

You will ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, supervise performance, and coordinate with leadership to meet goals while maintaining patient safety and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required; master's in nursing or MSN preferred or in progress
• Three years of nursing or health care experience with increasing responsibilities
• Current BLS certification
• Current clinical nursing license in Illinois
• Magnet-certified for specialty area preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of designated departments, ensuring staffing, workflows, and budget adherence. 24/7 accountability.
• Provide supervision, coaching, and performance reviews to nursing staff.
• Ensure policies meet Joint Commission and regulatory standards; drive quality improvements.
• Coordinate patient care considering age-specific needs and coordinating resources.
