Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital is seeking an Assistant Nurse Operations Manager to lead a designated unit with clinical oversight and administrative responsibilities. You will partner with the Nursing Operations Manager to drive patient care quality, staffing excellence, and staff development.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, collaboration, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards, while delivering outstanding patient experiences across shifts.

Qualifications

• RN license in Florida or NLC required.
• BSN degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years as a registered nurse in an acute setting.
• Current BLS certification required; additional clinical certifications may be needed.
• Leadership experience in nursing operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shared 24/7 accountability with Nursing Operations Manager.
• Recruitment and selection of unit staff through interviews and evaluation.
• Coordinate corrective action and career advancement with HR.
• Investigate event reports and provide feedback to leadership.
• Oversee unit schedules to ensure appropriate staffing.
• Monitor patient flow and intervene to meet outcomes.
• Perform nurse leader rounds and engage in quality initiatives.
• Ensure exceptional patient and family experience and service recovery.
• Lead staff meetings and huddles; drive unit outcomes.
• Provide direct patient care as needed to support operations.
• Maintain compliance with policies and promote a safe environment.
• Foster professional development and inclusive teamwork.
