Job summary

White Mountain Regional Medical Center in Springerville, AZ is seeking a Nurse Manager RN to lead the Medical Surgical Unit, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure high-quality patient care. This safety-sensitive role requires strong clinical and leadership skills and collaboration with the health-care team.

Under the direction of the CNO/DON, the Nurse Manager advocates for patients and staff, promotes staff development, and enforces nursing standards and policies.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience: Four (4) years nursing experience.
• BSN preferred.
• Two (2) years experience in nursing leadership role (preferred).
• Arizona RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the provision of quality care on the Medical Surgical Unit and manage day-to-day operations.
• Collaborate with health-care team to foster a patient-centered culture and staff development.
• Act as liaison between nursing staff and administration under the CNO/DON to advocate for patient and staff needs.
• Comply with safety policies, including Drug & Alcohol Policy.

Job description

The Nurse Manager Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional leadership position requiring strength, courtesy and compassion. The Nurse Manager is responsible for supervising the provision of quality care provided on the Medical Surgical Unit, all aspects of day-to-day operations of the unit, in addition to the specific responsibilities of a registered nurse. Utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills is necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to patients and nursing staff skill and identifying areas needing additional training of staff. Through collaboration with all members of the health-care team, strives to create a positive patient centered culture; and a culture where the staff is encouraged to grow in knowledge and skills to further the quality care provided at WMRMC. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)/Director of Nursing (DON), the Nurse Manager acts as a liaison between nursing staff and administration advocating for both patient and staff needs. The position exercises considerable judgment in applying professional knowledge in solving nursing problems within established policies and practices, requires strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, nursing and other health team members while maintaining all standards of professional nursing. This position is safety sensitive and subject to WMRMC's Drug & Alcohol Policy.

Required Education
Associates Degree in Nursing

Required Experience

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Two (2) years experience in nursing leadership role

Required Licensees & Certifications

• License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Arizona
• BLS, ACLS and PALS Certified within 30 days of hire

Preferred Licensees & Certifications

• CMSRN
