Job summary

Extended Care LLC in Hastings, IL seeks an experienced RN Manager to supervise day-to-day nursing activities and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, upholding high standards of resident care. The RN Unit Manager assigns tasks, implements care plans, and evaluates health needs.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college.
• Current RN license to practice in the state.
• Minimum 2+ years supervisory experience.
• Experience in Long-Term Care and MDS preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Professional and welcoming demeanor for customer service interactions.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate nursing care within the facility.
• Make frequent rounds to assess resident conditions and ensure nursing personnel are performing their duties.
• Ensure that medication rooms and carts are properly secured.
• Monitor supplies and order as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and facility surveys.
• Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in implementing policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and emergency protocols.
• Facilitate communication between shifts to maintain continuity of care.
• Oversee resident admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Monitor resident health status daily and respond to changes accordingly.
• Ensure that direct nursing care is provided by qualified personnel.
• Conduct shift meetings and provide staff training as needed.
• Participate in marketing and community outreach events.

RN Manager Requirements:

• Nursing Degree or Diploma from an accredited college or university
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License to practice in the state
