Job summary

The Administrative Nurse III (Nurse Manager) in the Patient Logistics / Transfer Center at UI Health oversees day-to-day operations, guides staff, and coordinates patient flow within a busy academic hospital in Chicago. This leadership role requires licensure, 5+ years of clinical leadership, and strong communication and EHR skills.

Qualifications include Illinois RN licensure, Bachelor’s in Nursing, BLS/CPR, and ANCC certification eligibility.

Qualifications

Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois.
Minimum of five years clinical experience, preferably in an academic health care setting.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Current AHA BLS/CPR and other required unit specific certifications.
Effective communication skills (oral and written).
Intermediate computer skills with the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Excellent attendance and interpersonal skills.
National ANCC certification or eligibility within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day department operations and patient flow in collaboration with Nursing leadership.
Act as a professional leadership role model and promote Shared Leadership.
Coordinate staffing with flexible shifts as required.
Maintain timely communication with physicians, nurses, and leadership.
Ensure competency and use of departmental IS applications.
Participate in quality improvement and reporting on indicators.
Support capacity management and cross-department collaboration.
