Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager of the Family Centered Couplet Care Unit is responsible for all department functions, supporting the mission, vision, values, and goals of the facility. The manager is an RN and makes critical thinking decisions within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

  • Ensure patient safety in the Postpartum and Newborn Nursery environments.
  • Utilize effective communication and information management skills daily.
  • Build on the ANA Standards of Care and Professional Practice.
  • Serve as a liaison to foster partnerships with patients and families.
  • Make decisions supporting continuity and coordination of care across settings.
  • Maintain high-quality age and developmental-specific care for infants to adults.
  • Develop Women’s Health initiatives and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team effectively.
  • Manage personnel, payroll, budgets, capital, business planning, and physician relationships.
  • Act as a liaison with hospital, community, and other institutions.
  • Organize and supervise human and material resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience preferred, including managing personnel, budgets, and physician relations.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

  • Current RN license in Texas or a compact state.
  • Current BLS provider card from AHA or ARC.
  • NRP certification required.
