Qualifications

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Manager for the Family Centered Couplet Care Unit oversees all department functions aligning with our mission, vision, values, and facility goals. As an RN, the manager makes critical decisions within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

  • Ensure patient safety in the Postpartum and Newborn Nursery environments.
  • Utilize effective communication and information management daily.
  • Adhere to ANA Standards of Care and Professional Practice.
  • Foster partnerships with patients and families.
  • Support continuity and coordination of care across settings.
  • Maintain high-quality, age-appropriate care for infants through adults.
  • Develop Women’s Health initiatives and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members.
  • Manage personnel, payroll, budgets, business plans, and physician relations.
  • Act as liaison with hospital, community, and other institutions.
  • Organize and supervise resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience preferred, including personnel, payroll, budgets, and physician relations.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current RN license in Texas or a compact state.
  • Current BLS provider card from AHA or Red Cross.
  • NRP certification required.
