Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Manager oversees all functions of the Family Centered Couplet Care Unit, ensuring safety and quality care for postpartum and newborn patients. The role requires an RN with critical thinking skills and adherence to the RN Practice Act.

• Ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Communicate effectively and manage information efficiently.
• Align practices with ANA standards.
• Foster partnerships with patients and families.
• Support continuity and coordination of care.
• Maintain high standards of age-specific care.
• Develop women’s health initiatives and process improvements.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members.
• Manage personnel, payroll, budgets, and physician relations.
• Serve as liaison with hospital, community, and other institutions.
• Organize resources and supervise staff and materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; advanced degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of management experience preferred, including personnel, payroll, budgets, and physician relations.

Licensure/Certifications

• Current RN license in Texas or a compact state.
• American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS provider card.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
