Job Summary and Qualifications

• Responsible for all department functions supporting mission, vision, values, and facility goals.
• Must be an RN with critical thinking skills within the RN scope.
• Ensure patient safety in Postpartum and Newborn Nursery.
• Effective communication and information management skills.
• Build on ANA standards of care and practice.
• Serve as a liaison to patients and families.
• Support continuity and coordination of care.
• Maintain high-quality age and developmental specific care.
• Develop Women’s Health initiatives and process improvements.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members.
• Manage personnel, payroll, budget, physician relations, and hospital liaison roles.
• Organize and supervise resources and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; advanced degree preferred.
• At least 2 years management experience preferred.

Licensure and Certification

• Current RN license in Texas or compact license.
• Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC.
• NRP certification required.
