Job summary

Hartford Hospital in Connecticut seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to lead a busy medical unit, ensuring patient-centered care and adherence to evidence-based practices. Under the Nurse Manager's supervision, you will schedule, mentor staff, monitor quality metrics, and coordinate interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost-effective care.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
• Prior leadership experience and/or unit committee work highly preferred.
• Specialty certification highly preferred.
• Strong communications skills required - both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a work group to ensure high quality, cost-effective patient care in support of the hospital's strategic plan.
• Schedule and assign work, monitor progress, and balance workload among staff.
• Identify improvement opportunities and implement changes to enhance quality and productivity.
• Coach, develop, and participate in staff performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to meet patient and family needs.
