Job summary

Asbury Communities in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead a high-performing team, oversee 24-hour geriatric nursing care, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and uphold a culture of excellence and resident well‑being.

The position requires a BSN (preferred) and current Maryland RN or LPN license, at least five years in geriatric nursing with two years in a charge/manager role, CPR, and IV certification preferred. Salary ranges from $95,000 to $120,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Current RN or LPN License from the State of Maryland.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in geriatric nursing including two (2) years of experience as a Charge Nurse/Manager in geriatric care with progressive experience in an administrative and supervisory capacity.
• Current CPR required.
• IV certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 24‑hour nursing care for assigned unit in compliance with policies, regulations, and long‑term care standards.
• Coordinate care across disciplines to ensure continuity, quality, and resident satisfaction.
• Lead quality assurance initiatives, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate staff; manage schedules, performance, and staffing needs.
• Maintain accurate medical records, ensure compliance with medication procedures, and participate in care plan meetings, surveys, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Provide clinical support, restorative care oversight, and effective communication with residents, families, and healthcare teams while fostering a positive, professional work environment.
