Job summary

Hartford Hospital, a leading teaching hospital and Level I trauma center, seeks a nursing leader to work under the Nurse Manager to implement evidence-based practice and develop a care plan that addresses physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.

The assistant nurse manager will supervise a large unit, coordinate scheduling, monitor quality and productivity, and drive continual improvement aligned with the organization’s goals, providing coaching

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
• Prior leadership experience and/or unit committee work highly preferred.
• Specialty certification highly preferred.
• Strong communications skills required - both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• The assistant nurse manager supervises a work group to ensure a high quality, cost-effective product or service is delivered in support of the hospital's strategic plan.
• They schedule and assign work, resolve processing problems, collect data to monitor progress, and carry an assigned workload.
• They implement and monitor departmental goals and objectives for the work group in line with organizational direction.
