Job summary

The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Healthcare System in Baltimore seeks a Nurse Informaticist to serve as an expert in nursing informatics, clinical information systems, and EHRs. You will bridge nursing practice and IT, evaluate workflows, and optimize clinical operations across facilities.

You will lead data analytics, support regulatory compliance (COMAR, CMS, HIPAA), and develop training and policies while collaborating with executives, clinicians, and vendors to advance evidence-based

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university.
RN license (state or multi-state) in good standing.
Two years of RN experience in administrative/supervisory/consultative/teaching roles preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess, design, configure, test, deploy, and evaluate EHR systems and CDS tools.
Advise nursing leaders and provide consultation on nursing decisions, workflow redesign, and clinical workforce utilization.
Collect, validate, and analyze clinical data to build executive dashboards and drive performance improvement and patient safety.
Ensure documentation and EHR alignment with COMAR, CMS, Joint Commission, OHCQ, and HIPAA regulations; develop policies and SOPs.
Develop EHR training initiatives and guide staff on regulatory and technological changes.
Participate in governance groups, manage vendor interactions, and support interagency health initiatives.
