Job summary

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in New York seeks a Nurse II for Ambulatory Services-Neurosurgery and Neuro-oncology. This full-time, first-shift, temporary-benefited role offers 37.5 hours weekly and a starting pay of $47.58 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Summary:

You’ll work collaboratively with physicians and licensed providers to carry out medical regimens and lead a dedicated care team of nurses and clinical support staff. The starting rate of pay for this position is $47.58 per hour which consists of a base salary and geographic differential. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package. Please note that the listed starting hourly rate is the potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

License Requirement
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.

Education and Experience

1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience; or
2. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time critical care experience; or
3. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting; or
4. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting and completion of Roswell Park nursing orientation with the ability to function independently at a satisfactory level for three (3) months (full-time) as a Nurse I at Roswell Park.

NOTE:

1. Incumbents will serve a one (1) year full-time probationary period as a Nurse II.
2. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an RN
• Oncology, surgical, and/or neurology experience
• Telephone triage experience
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering compassionate patient care
