Job summary

Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) in Hazard, KY seeks a Nurse Extern Tier II to provide nursing assistance and perform basic nursing procedures under RN supervision, supporting care plans and patient comfort. You will work on-site in a hospital department and gain clinical practice toward licensure.

You will complete nursing assessments with RN oversight, assist with daily activities, monitor vital signs, collect specimens, and help with safety and patient care tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in Board of Nursing approved School of Nursing RN program.
• Completion of basic Nursing Fundamentals and/or CNA course.
• Current transcripts and copy of skills evaluation.
• Recommendation letter from two instructors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nursing care plans under RN supervision.
• Complete nursing assessments with RN oversight.
• Provide personal care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Answer call lights promptly and meet patient needs.
• Collect specimens and record input/output.
• Record vital signs and clinical information per policy.
• Assist in feeding, ambulation, and patient safety.
• Maintain a safe environment and assist in procedures as directed.
