Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN Float Pool to join our team in Chattanooga, TN. The extern delivers high-quality, patient-centered care under RN supervision and supports the nursing staff in providing safe patient care.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited RN program and BLS certification, with competency-based progression for higher-level procedures as training advances. PRN status offers flexible shifts within our hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification current as per hospital policy.
• Must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program.
• Eligible after first nursing semester or CNA in first RN semester.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate care for patient populations in the department.
• Communicate pertinent information to appropriate individuals.
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care while respecting patient rights and dignity.
• Document patient care information in the computer systems.
• Assist with activities of daily living for assigned patients.
