Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN Float Pool to join our team. The Nurse Extern delivers high-quality, patient-centered care under RN supervision and supports a clean, safe patient environment while developing higher-level nursing skills.

The role requires current enrollment in an accredited RN program, a valid BLS, and eligibility for Nurse Extern after the first nursing semester.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification current.
• Must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program.
• Can be considered for Nurse Extern after first nursing semester or CNA in first semester of RN program.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in this department.
• Communicate pertinent information to appropriate individuals.
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.
• Document patient care information in the appropriate computer screens.
• Assist with ADL’s for assigned patients.
