TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center is offering a part-time Nurse Extern PRN opportunity in Nashville, TN. The Nurse Extern supports high-quality patient care under RN supervision and works as part of a skilled team in the PCU.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program and hold a current BLS. Responsibilities include patient care tasks, accurate documentation, ADL assistance, and effective communication with the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification must be current.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program.
• Can be considered for Nurse Extern after first nursing semester or CNA in first RN semester.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patient populations in the department.
• Communicate pertinent information to appropriate individuals.
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care while respecting patient rights and dignity.
• Document patient care information in the appropriate computer screens.
• Assist with ADLs for assigned patients.
