Abrazo Arrowhead Campus in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Nurse Extern to provide bedside support under supervision. You will observe, assist with patient care, and apply the nursing process to support RNs.

You must be enrolled in senior-level nursing, complete three semesters, and have CPR certification. Eligible students gain hands-on clinical experience and contribute to a compassionate care team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a nursing program at the senior level.
• CPR certification required.
• Submission of two letters of recommendation and instructor skills checklist.

Responsibilities

• Observes, reports and responds to patient needs during admission and ongoing care.
• Performs direct patient care activities under RN direction.
• Recognizes early changes in patient condition and reports to RN.
• Transmits patient status and care plans between shifts.
• Documents vital signs, intake/outtake, height/weight, and ADLs.
• Keeps the department clean and organized; helps with supplies and stocking.
