Job summary

La Paz Regional Hospital in Parker, AZ is seeking a Nurse Extern who will gain clinical experience while enrolled in an accredited nursing program. Under the direct supervision of a licensed RN, you will participate in patient care activities, classroom training, and care planning as part of a competency assessment.

This temporary externship is not a permanent position and may be influenced by hospital policy.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program and in 3rd or 4th semester.
• Must graduate from an accredited nursing program on the initial anticipated graduation date.
• BLS Certification required.
• Must pass Nursing State Boards within 90 days after graduation or within 60 days after a second attempt.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under direct supervision of a licensed RN.
• Assist in assessment, planning, diagnosis, implementation, evaluation of nursing care.
• Use critical thinking to identify and report patient status to a RN.
• Collaborate with other disciplines in planning and modifying nursing care under supervision.
• Follow safety standards and comply with policies and regulatory requirements.
