Job summary

Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, is seeking a Nurse Extern for Augusta, GA. The position offers $16.00 - $20.00 per hour and is open to part-time or full-time student nurses.

Responsibilities include patient assistance, vital signs, and documentation in the EMR under supervision, with opportunities for growth and education in a supportive inpatient rehabilitation setting.

Qualifications

• BLS (CPR) required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Part-time or full-time active student status.
• Currently enrolled in a professional RN or LPN program and in good academic standing.
• Didactic/skills lab fundamentals must be included in the term.
• Must provide proof of continued enrollment and passing grades each semester.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities as delegated by the rehabilitation team.
• Communicate patient concerns and changes in condition to rehabilitation staff.
• Document patient information in the EMR.
• Obtain vital signs and record in the EMR.
• Assist with feeding and Therapeutic Dining Group as indicated.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
